Fibroid

Fibroid Tumor
A fibroid is a (benign) mass that forms from the muscles and tissues of the uterus.
This means it’s not cancer, and many people might have fibroids without even knowing.
However, sometimes it starts causing symptoms depending on its size and location.

… What are the symptoms?

  • Heavy or prolonged menstrual periods
  • Pain in the lower abdomen or back
  • Pressure on the bladder or intestines
  • Difficulty getting pregnant or delayed fertility
  • Abdominal bloating that feels like pregnancy
  • General fatigue without a clear cause

Why does it appear in the first place?
There’s still no single confirmed cause, but several factors increase the risk, such as:

  • Elevated estrogen levels (especially before menopause)
  • Genetics
  • Obesity or weight fluctuations
  • Psychological stress

And here’s something many people don’t know:
Women of African descent or those with darker skin are more likely to develop fibroids than any other ethnicity! Also, their symptoms tend to appear earlier and are often more severe.
