Adenomyosis Treatment
Interventional Radiology:
This involves performing uterine artery embolization through interventional radiology, which works to reduce the size of the uterus. A special fluid is injected into the artery supplying the uterus with blood via a catheter inserted through a blood vessel in the leg. This fluid blocks the blood flow, causing the uterus to begin shrinking.
Uterine artery embolization is performed by an interventional radiologist and is suitable for women who wish to preserve their uterus but do not plan to become pregnant. This method is not suitable for young women who haven’t had children or those who wish to conceive in the future.
There are many ways to treat adenomyosis, but the most important step is to discuss and choose the treatment that is most suitable for your condition, based on your medical history, overall health, and your acceptance of the treatment approach.
Early intervention always helps avoid consequences like hysterectomy. Therefore, we advise any young girl at the beginning of her menstrual cycle—especially those who are overweight, diabetic, or whose mothers suffer from obesity, diabetes, or have a family history of uterine enlargement or fibroids—to undergo early screening.
We can fully control the disease early on through healthy eating and regular exercise, as both help reduce estrogen levels, which in turn contributes to decreasing adenomyosis.
